Two weeks into my French class and about half of the people have dropped it. I guess they decided it was too intense for them. *shrug* I've been doing well in terms of tests and homework, but I struggle to get the pronounciations correct and recognize the difference between similiar words, such as le/la/les and un/une. I just need to work on that more. I need to spend a certain number of hours in the language lab throughout the semester and have figured out a pattern that will work fine. When I take French 2 in the fall, I plan on signing up with the same professor. I like her.

I've pretty much decided on Cal State Fullerton for my master's degree. I just need to earn enough money to take the GRE, pay for transcripts from all the colleges I've attended, the application fee, and get new letters of reference. Speaking of money and jobs, the training for the math tutoring job has stalled for the moment, but I spoke to the man in charge of the writing tutoring and he said that they're still interested in hiring me for the fall. I'd even be able to choose whether I wanted to work at the main campus or the satellite campus nearer my house. That would depend on where the classes I take in the fall will be located, so I couldn't give a definitive answer. It also depends on what happens regarding the math tutor training. Being in job limbo sucks.

My brother's cat, Spot, had to go to the vet this week. He has a habit of sneaking outside (hence his nickname of Houdini) and must have gotten into a fight with one of the strays that hangs out around our house. He developed an abcess on his lower right jaw thanks to an infected scratch. So the vet operated on it yesterday and we brought Spot home yesterday afternoon. The poor cat was still doped up on the anasthetic, so he sort of staggered around like a drunk if he wanted to go anywhere. It was rather funny to watch actually. To help protect the stitches, the vet gave us a cone and it freaked out Bright Eyes and Gandalf. Both of them had poofed tails when they first saw Spot with the cone.
