This is a little late to announce, but I visited
swingjungend this weekend. After class on Thursday, I took the bus out her way and came back earlier today. It was quite enjoyable, partially because she now has her license, so we were able to get out more readily and not have to worry about walking or using the bus. *grin*
So, we watched two movies Thursday when I got there: Želary, a Czech film set during WWII that was very good, and The Last Samurai. I have to admit that Tom Cruise looked pretty good in that. I really like the story it tells. The music was beautiful, too. For both movies.
Friday, we drove out to the Santa Anita Mall to meet one of
swingjungend's roommates who works there. She's really nice, and short like me. *grin* While we were out there, we saw Order of the Phoenix. I really liked it. Neville was so wonderful and you get to see more of the kids shining and not just Harry. Watching Moldie-Voldie, I could see Ralph Fiennes in him, particularly around the eyes.
On the way back, we stopped at the video rental place and rented Memoirs of a Geisha, The Painted Veil, and Girl, Interrupted. We watched Geisha Friday evening and the other two on Saturday. I liked all of them. Geisha was so beautiful and bittersweet. The same goes for Painted Veil, though I didn't really start to like Kitty until she started to grow up while they were out in the middle of Nowhere, China. The little boy at the end was so adorable.
We RPed and talked about stuff. Then, this morning, we went to LaVerne, to the university
swingjungend will be attending in the fall. It's very beautiful there and I look forward to visiting while classes are in session. I'm sure it won't seem as sleepy as it did today. *wink* Then I hopped the bus and came home.
We are now taking care of a tiny kitten for
sendrileswench until she can find a place of her own. The kitten's name is Mini and she's about two months old. She has a cast on one leg because some bastard threw her out of a moving car on the freeway. *growl*
sendrileswench saw the kitten and grabbed her before she could be hurt even more and took her to a vet. She's fine now and the leg doesn't slow her down at all.
As far as school goes, it looks like I'll be getting an A in the class. I've received A's on everything except the last quiz, which was a B. I'll be fine. Next semester, I'll be full time. We'll see how that goes. I'll also be starting work, most likely at the math center.
