This morning, Mom and I went out to the car so she could drop me off to catch the bus to go to work. We were going to take Dad's car because Mom needed to put gas in her car first. She goes to look in the driver's side mirror and realizes that it's missing. So she looks in the rearview mirror and wonders if there's ice on the back window. She activates the wiper to remove the ice. It shatters. Some idiots threw a rock through the back window and snatched the mirror.
Naturally, Mom and I ended up taking her car instead. Since it was too late to catch the bus by then, I went with her to the gas station and we stopped at a 7-Eleven on the way to the bus stop. She dropped me off and I rode the bus to where I usually transfer to the one that would take me to the campus. While we were waiting to cross the intersection to the stop, the bus I needed to catch pulled away. The next one wasn't for another hour.
Rather than sit on my arse for that hour, I walked from Foothill to 19th St (this is in Ranch Cucamonga, on Haven Ave.) Once I got there, I stopped at the bus stop and waited for the bus that would turn onto Haven from 19th and caught that one. So I was only 15 minutes late for work instead of half an hour. Given the fact that I'll lose two or three weeks' worth of work because of winter break, that's a good thing.
So, that was my morning. I've also been looking at getting a new laptop. Considering how old this one is, it's doing pretty good, but it's not enough anymore. Ann's friend said she would let me have her old one, but then she said she needed to talk to her dad about it, since he helped pay for it, and I haven't heard anything else since. I need to have a back-up plan, in case that idea falls through.
It'll be a Compaq C700T from HP. With the upgrades I'm planning, it would cost $684, which is pretty decent, considering the one I have now cost me over $1,000 in the end. Plus, I would hopefully be able to do a payment plan, which would work better for me. I just need to know if I have to go through with the idea or not. Hopefully, Ann will be able to let me know when I see her tomorrow.
