My apologies for not posting something sooner than this. I've been focusing on the end of the semester, both for school and work. I received the recent Persuasion with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones and watched it, of course. They changed the story around a little, but not in such a way as to detract from what Jane Austen wrote. My biggest disappointment was that none of the Naval officers wore their uniforms. *pout* Still, I saw nothing wrong in the performances and the essential plot is still there. Just some of the finer details got changed around a little.

My finals went fine. I have two A's for sure. The only one I don't know about is my Retrospectives on WWII class. I did fine on the midterm and I'm pretty sure I did okay on the final and paper, so I'm hoping for a B there. I dropped my Folklore class with a W because I knew I wouldn't get a real wonderful grade. I still attended classes, though, because I really enjoyed it and the people I met there are really nice.

I haven't heard back about sending the transcripts again, so I'm assuming they found them. *grin* I've already looked at possible plane tickets and I'm doing my best to save up for those. My next paycheck will be really nice, so I'll be paying off a bit more of my credit card bill than I normally would, especially since the paycheck after that will really suck.

As for getting my license, my parents had the car I'll be driving towed to the repair shop yesterday because the battery died while it sat in our driveway. All told, the repairs will cost $1,500 to $1,700. Still, the guy said it should be good for another 5 years so long as we have it tuned up regularly. A decent used car would cost us about $5,000, so it's better just to repair this one. Once I have a decent paying job, I can look at getting a newer car. Once this one is fixed, that's what I'll be using. It'll be nice to practice in that car I will be driving, so I'll be more inclined to want to drive. *wink*

I visited [livejournal.com profile] shinseikatsu this weekend. We spent some time at [livejournal.com profile] ll_geekcore_ll's place. We watched an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and they introduced me to the game Katamari (or is it spelled with a 'c'?). Then we returned to La Verne and went to bed. We watched a few episodes of Death Note before going to the Montclair Plaza. We stopped at the Barnes and Noble there in hopes that I would get to see [livejournal.com profile] ladygelfling, but she wasn't going to be at work until the evening. We returned to La Verne and finished watching Death Note, which just kicks ass. *grin*

Then we went to the theater to watch Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. [livejournal.com profile] shinseikatsu was naturally pleased beyond measure at how kickass Edmund was. *smirk* Peter was an idiot, but he got his act together in the end. I'm sorry [livejournal.com profile] allisnow, but I didn't much care for the Caspian/Susan thing. 'Course, I've never really been fond of Susan. She tried too hard to be a grown-up, I guess. I loved Reepicheep, though. He's always been a favourite character of mine. Eddie Izzard did a fantastic job and I can't wait to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader. After we got back from the theater, we sat down to watch Elfen Lied and finished it the next day. It was really good and I'm a little disappointed that there were so few episodes. I don't hate Yuka as much as I do Misa, but I don't like her. We went to the Hong Kong Plaza with [livejournal.com profile] ll_geekcore_ll in the middle of that and had lots of fun.

The next day, I helped [livejournal.com profile] shinseikatsu start moving her things back home and [livejournal.com profile] filodea picked me up to take me to work because she and [livejournal.com profile] umbralillium were already in the area. I was going to ask if I could just not work because I hadn't been home since Friday morning, but they were really busy, so I worked anyway.
