This past Monday,
shinseikatsu came out for a visit. She brought with her Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and A Good Woman. We watched Ellen Monday before dinner. She was very entertaining and some of the things she talked about have become running jokes for us. After dinner, we RPed, went for walkies, and then went to bed.
Tuesday, we went to Ontario Mills, just to get out of the house. While we were there, the earthquake hit. We weren't too troubled by it, but
umbralillium was very upset because she was the only one home at the time. Anyway, we got back and watched the other two movies she brought with her. I loved Four Weddings and a Funeral. Not so much for the romance because I didn't find it very believable (how can you fall in love with a woman you've only seen twice before?). However, I did like the friends. David was quite dishy, Tom adorkable, Matthew lovely, Gareth enjoyable, Fiona a better match for Charles than Carrie (IMHO), and Scarlett punky. *grin* I enjoyed A Good Woman, too. I looked it up on Wikipedia afterwards and found that others didn't like it so much. I can't see why, though. I suppose I'd have to read the play to understand. We went for walkies afterwards, and then went to bed.
Wednesday, we watched Hellboy because my brother had it and we figured we might want to watch the first one before we watch the second. Naturally, she liked Abe. I liked the professor. Myers seemed extraneous to me, except for the part he played at the end. *shakes head* We went to Victoria Gardens afterwards. I got two manga while we were there. Then we came back and watched Van Helsing, which I'd gotten from Netflix. I liked the first scene (yay, Sam West!), but the rest of the story was rather contrived to me. Though David Wenham's character was a cutie-pie. Then we went for a walk afterwards, as per usual. Instead of going to bed, though, we watched Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. Up to 37. Then we went to bed.
We pootled around Thursday until it was time for
shinseikatsu to take us up to the college to meet Mom so we could figure out how much our textbooks are going to cost for the fall. She went home after she dropped us off. After we got done there, we went out to lunch, and then home.
Today, I found the rest of Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments and watched those. Some of them literally made me jump, even though I was expecting something to happen. *shakes head* Though, some of them I'm intrigued enough to want to see the movies themselves. One is The Haunting. Partly because my high school did the play The Haunting of Hill House my sophomore year and I'd like to see how it was adapted for the screen.
