I finally heard back about the Creative Writing Master's Program I applied for. They decided not to accept me into their program because they feel I "could use further preparation in creative writing". WTF? I've been writing since I was ten, at least. That's almost fifteen years' worth! Granted, most of that has been on my own, but still! The point of the program is to help me develop as a writer. *sigh* They suggested I try taking a Post-Baccalaureate Writing semester and then applying again. I'm almost tempted to be contrary and not take that semester, but who knows? I'll look into at least before my contrary streak gets too far ahead of me.

Good news is that I'm taking my behind-the-wheel driving test this Friday. I've been practicing quite a bit with Mom and she said I am getting better. I just have to focus on where I am and where I'm going. No multi-tasking, which I admit is a very bad habit of mine. *sheepish grin* Obviously, I'm going to need to continue practicing even if I do pass, but I feel much more confident than I would have a couple months ago. 'Course, I should have been practicing all these months, but I'm a dorkwad and an idiot.

I've also started classes for the fall and they're interesting so far. I'm taking Beginning Piano (if I can't get into the practice rooms often enough, I may have to give it up, but I really don't want to), Oral Interpretation of Literature (very interesting so far. I need to choose something to perform soon, but I'm torn), British Literature, up the Renaissance and Reformation (this one's fun so far. We're reading Beowulf currently), Women in US History (I know this one's going to be good. I know who my paper is going to be about, whee!), and American Cinema (I'll finally watch Gone With The Wind, ahh! *cowers*).

I'm also back to working in the Match Success Center. I'm much more confident now and I'm not afraid to get up and help someone. It's a little weird because the new workers are turning to me for help with where things are and what we do. Just a year ago, that was me. I don't plan to stay there for forever, but it's a good place to be to save up money. Provided I don't buy too many books, movies, or CD's. *grin* Thank goodness for Netflix.
